The August Issue of Chicago Magazine is out now! Inside is a great section about the Orren Pickell showhouse. That's how my painting looks over the mantle. Cool!

Earlier this spring I sent a postcard out to my mailing list, searching for sponsors to help fund my annual retreat/workshop on Washington Island. I receive 12 sponsorship contributions allowing me to attend lessons and create for a week, painting outside from morning till night.

On July 26th I held a celebration of this support by hosting a thank-you art reception. Each sponsor selected a field study from the set I had painted on this trip to take home with them.

The event was catered by grill master Ed Kuhr and ran smoothly with the help of Liz Bolich and Nancy Kuhr. The weather cooperated and a lovely evening ensued.

Three of my paintings have been chosen to be shown in a custom dream home, The Scottish Manor in Bannockburn. Orren Pickell has selected one of my large pieces, "Nested Barn"  for over the fireplace in the great room. It’s worth the trip to see this house!

In conjunction with the Antioch Garden Club I will be showing my work with other artists at an Open Studio in Antioch. Look for me in the field in my tent. New pieces and work from the past 4 years will be available for purchase.
