Since I no longer participate in outdoor art fairs, being a part of  Wine About Winter this past Saturday in downtown Libertyville allowed me the opportunity to interact with the public more extensively then I have in the past few years. I really enjoyed it!

The streets were teaming with  wine enthusiastes andand shoppers out having a great time.

One of the pieces on display this past Saturday was the completed painted I started as a demo for the DuPage Art League on Feburary 15.

What I strived to achieve in this painting is to have the viewer feel the heavy, wet humid air that is so prevelent in the midwest after a rain shower.

A big thank you  to everyone who stopped by to see me.

The phone rings,I check caller ID and it's an old friend. We catch up on our lives and then " I wanted to ask you..."

The result being, I will be showing my work and demostrating my painting technique at Petranek's 426 N. Milwaukee in downtown Libertyville this Saturday Feb 20 from 1 to 4pm.

 This will be part of Libertyville's annual Wine About  Winter.

New Class For Adults Thursdays 4 to 5:30

I have started a new  class for adults, all  levels of experience  are welcome  This class will focus on drawing and and painting. Contact me for more information. Class size is limited to 4 artists.

DuPage Art League

Monday night I was invited to give a demo at the DuPage Art League in Wheaton. What a wonderful space they have! 2 classrooms and a large gallery space in the front!

Even though it was snowing, there was a very large turn out.

I have not mastered talking and paintng at the same time, I do love to talk , but as every artist knows, while we are working,  there are hundreds of problems and questions that we subconsciously answer as we are creating.

I was a bit disappointed I was not able to complete the piece in the 1 1/2 hour time frame,  I was a bit adventurous with the size of the canvas I was using, and we all agreed next time I will use a smaller surface.
