It becomes very difficult to blog when you don't have a computer! I have a teenage daughter...but I still love her! She has blessed the computer with 2 viruses within a 3 week period!

The last one needed to have the computer reformated so I am now taking a break from putting all my files back on and re-hookling everything up to write.

It is amazing how much I depend on this machine

I have experienced a bit of a painters block. I was attempting to capture the essence of Spring on a rather large surface. When I stepped back from it I realized just how "pastel" the piece had become it wasen't bad  but it definately was not my pallet! So I put it aside and just analized it for a few weeks. I finally reached my conclusion this week...It needs to dissappear! I will paint over it next week.

Yesterday I went to a friend and fellow artists' home to view DVD's he had produced and directed for other artists. It looks like I will have my own DVD! Filming starts this Spring!

Next week I will be lecturing students at the Stevenson High School, My work has been iin the gallery there since the beginning of Jan. I'm rather looking forward to it!

Hope your week is going well...If you live in the midwest, Spring will be here soon!

Happy New Year! May it be a better one for the world.

There is a peaceful hush created by the falling snow today. It instills in me a desire to cocoon indoors. Now is the time I take out my field studies and create my larger paintings for the galleries.   I have a chance to be one with nature in the comfort of my studio.

This year, during the summer, it is my intention to visit new states and explore the painting of different terrains. I did wander through Brown County, Indiana in December and will be doing a series of work featuring what I saw there. The land definitely has more of a vertical thrust and a lot more oak trees!

Another intention of mine for the new year is to be sure I blog every week when I am not on the road. So please come by and comment to the blog as the new year makes it simple beginning.

Stay warm!
