One of my joys in life is to see the work of another artist and be completely carried away with it!
This happened to me on Monday when I visited the studio of Stefanie Taranto. She approached me after I had given a demonstration at the DuPage Art League and asked if I would consider being her mentor.
She showed me a few samples and it sparked my interest, so I agreed.
Going through her work, which was all good, but predictable, she then unveiled her landscape paintings and abstract pastels. These paintings were strong and identifiable, and definately a unique style which I enjoyed. But it was Stefanie's pastel work that made me stop and invited me to look deeper. I did not want to stop looking. This is what art should do.
So an accomplished artist is about to be launched, and when she has her images online, I'll let you know, so you to can partake of the beauty.
